The DotPod RBA system has already proven that it can go far beyond the traditional idea of a pod mod. With the release of the SPOT RBA by Ennequadro Mods, this platform becomes even more interesting: compact, efficient, rebuildable, and capable of delivering extremely high-level performance when paired with the right coil.

This is exactly why we developed three new dedicated coils: Stapled, Multicore, and Tricore, specifically designed to work at their best inside the SPOT RBA and with devices such as the Dotmod Max and similar systems.

What makes these coils different is their targeted construction: reduced mass, fast ramp-up, and unusual resistance values compared to traditional MTL coils. This is not a random choice, but a precise design decision made to take advantage of the unique behavior of the Dotmod electronics, which tends to perform especially well with lower-resistance, lighter, more reactive coils.

The result is a line of coils derived from our traditional models, but refined and optimized for a very different kind of system. The goal is simple: to turn what would normally be seen as a beginner-friendly pod mod into a high-end rebuildable platform, capable of delivering excellent flavor precision, strong performance, control, and a truly advanced vaping experience.

Stapled

The Stapled is the driest and most defined coil in the series.

It is designed for vapers looking for a clean, precise, less rounded and more analytical flavor profile. It is especially suited for tobaccos, extracts, refined liquids, and complex blends rich in top notes, where separation and clarity are essential.

Thanks to its reduced mass, it activates quickly while maintaining a controlled delivery and a dry, elegant, highly readable aromatic profile.

Multicore

The Multicore is the most energetic coil in the line.

It has been designed for those who want more punch, more body, and a stronger response, especially at slightly higher wattages compared to a classic MTL setup. It remains highly versatile and works well with many different types of liquid, but it gives its best with more lively setups and flavors that benefit from a fuller, more intense delivery.

It is the ideal choice for those who want to push the SPOT RBA further, taking advantage of the system’s performance potential without sacrificing control, stability, or flavor accuracy.

Tricore

The Tricore is the most balanced and versatile coil of the series.

It was created to provide a smooth, stable, and easy-to-manage vape, perfect for a satisfying and consistent slow vape experience. It can be used comfortably even at lower wattages, while still maintaining good reactivity and a full aromatic output.

It is the most adaptable of the three: ideal for those looking for balance, comfort, and consistency, without necessarily pushing the system to higher power levels.

A new identity for the DotPod RBA

With these three coils dedicated to the SPOT RBA, the DotPod system takes on a new identity.

This is not simply about adapting an MTL coil to a compact deck. It is about completely rethinking the coil around the electronics, the available space, the airflow, and the real behavior of the device.

Stapled, Multicore, and Tricore give the SPOT RBA three different souls: dry and refined, energetic and performance-driven, smooth and versatile.

Three different interpretations of the same system, designed to bring a rebuildable pod to a much higher level.


Over the past months I’ve received a constant request: to bring back one of the most appreciated coils from the lineup, the Turing Fralien Enigma.

That demand led to the creation of the Tesseract Limited Edition, reintroducing the same architecture that combines a Fralien core, known for delivering a rich and layered flavor spectrum expecially on top notes, with the Enigma wrap, a sort of “evolution” of the Mohawk wrap, capable to further enhance flavor intensity on core notes.

The result is a coil that doesn’t simply push flavor harder, but reconstructs it in a full and complete spectrum, highlighting both the brighter notes and the deeper nuances of any e-liquid.

Alongside the more extreme version, designed for ODL and mechanical RDA setups, I also developed a more compact variant, ideal for tanks or more efficient setups, offering reduced battery consumption while maintaining the same aromatic identity.

In the world of vaping, the choice of coil material is crucial for determining performance, durability, and safety. Among the most commonly used materials are Kanthal and Nichrome, each with its own unique history and specific properties.

History and Composition

Nichrome is an alloy primarily composed of nickel and chromium, developed in the early 20th century. Thanks to its high resistivity and oxidation resistance, it quickly became a popular choice for heating elements in industrial furnaces and household appliances.

In the 1930s, engineer Hans von Kantzow introduced Kanthal, an alloy based on iron, chromium, and aluminum. This new composition offered longer durability and a higher maximum operating temperature compared to Nichrome.

Differences Between Kanthal and Nichrome

  • Resistivity and Reactivity:
    Nichrome has lower resistivity than Kanthal, making it more reactive and enabling faster heating. This translates to smoother output and a flavor profile often preferred by many vapers.
  • Maximum Operating Temperature:
    Kanthal can operate at higher temperatures, up to 1425°C, compared to Nichrome’s limit of 1250°C. This makes it ideal for applications requiring extreme heat.
  • Durability and Stability:
    Kanthal offers up to four times the lifespan of Nichrome, due to the formation of a protective aluminum oxide layer that prevents oxidation and corrosion.

Resistance to Temperature and Corrosion

Kanthal, with its aluminum content, forms an aluminum oxide layer that provides effective protection against oxidation at high temperatures. However, in humid environments or when exposed to aggressive chemicals, this layer may be less resilient.

Nichrome, on the other hand, forms a chromium oxide layer. Although this layer is less heat-resistant compared to aluminum oxide, it provides good protection in chemically aggressive environments. This makes Nichrome more suitable in scenarios where resistance to corrosion is a priority.

Passivation and Preheating

There is a widespread belief that preheating Nichrome coils is harmful. In reality, controlled preheating promotes the formation of the chromium oxide layer, a process known as passivation, which improves the material’s resistance to corrosion caused by e-liquids.

For Kanthal, passivation occurs naturally during use, forming an aluminum oxide layer. However, this layer can be less resistant in chemically aggressive environments, making Kanthal more susceptible to corrosion in such conditions.

Conclusion

The choice between Kanthal and Nichrome depends on the specific needs of the vaper. Kanthal offers greater durability and resistance to high temperatures, while Nichrome ensures superior reactivity and better corrosion resistance in chemically aggressive environments.
